POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Service Depot Technician is responsible for processing customer product returns.  Technician performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.  Makes warranty determinations and provides quotes for non-warranty repairs.  Stores relevant commercial and technical data regarding each return in SAP and SHaG systems.  Works with Supervisor and/or Engineers to learn how to build and test new product.  May assist other departments such as Operations, Engineering or Quality with specialized testing or experiments.

 

 

Level will be determined by skill and experience

  • SKILL: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
  • SUPERVISION: Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 0 + Years related experience  - (Level will be determined by skills and experience)

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs SOP on each PH return confirming or denying customer complaint.
  • Determines warranty status of each PH according to standard warranty rules and/or customer contract.
  • Makes warranty repair or replace decision based on Service Depot policy.
  • Publishes repair reports to FSE/customer for each returned PH.
  • Accurately enters PH quality/performance data into SHaG database.
  • Prepares quotes for repair of non-warranty PH returns.
  • Uses SAP consistently to log all commercial transactions.
  • Assists Operations by FAT testing PH configurations using fluids not allowed on the main manufacturing floor.
  • Conducts special testing for Quality & Engineering Departments as prescribed, while collecting & reporting data.
  • Ensures appropriate Quality documents are followed in carrying out Service Depot duties. Participates in audits as necessary.
  • Conducts low level PH failure analysis as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • experience in the troubleshooting and repair of complex technical products
  • Strong computer & applications skills (ERP, Microsoft Office suite – Excel in particular)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated self-starter
  • Enthusiastic learner
  • Extremely well organized
  • Detail and Continuous improvement oriented

 

 

DESIRED:

  • Significant experience in the assembly and test of Dimatix printheads
  • Experience using SAP, SHaG (Dimatix proprietary) software
  • Associate’s Degree
