POSITION SUMMARY:

In this technical internship role, the candidate will work alongside a team to perform mechanical design and SolidWorks modeling for components, assemblies, and sub-systems on automated robotic systems.  The intern will analyze mechanical parts, systems and equipment. Intern will also complete testing by performing feasibility studies using industrial and collaborative robots according to a test plan including programming robots for test purposes and review the results.   This intern will also assist with building and wiring the system.

  • Need to understand BOM structures
  • SolidWorks Experience
  • Ability to interpret requirements and identify solutions within project constraints.
  • General Familiarity with GD&T.
  • Completing a course of studies in the Engineering discipline or other technical area
  • Ability to perform work independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced math and computational skills
  • Advanced reasoning skills to analyze and solve problems
  • Statistical analysis
  • Technical aptitude

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform mechanical design and SolidWorks modeling for components, assemblies, and sub-systems. Optimize models for reuse and expandability  
  • Analyze mechanical parts, systems and equipment Design experiments to evaluate design risks for new products
  • Complete testing by performing feasibility studies using industrial and collaborative robots according to a test plan including programming robots for test purposes and review the results
  • Assist with building and wiring the system
