Salary range for position: $95,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Improve the yield of MEMS inkjet products by focusing on enhancing process control, eliminating defects and strengthening quality control. Initiate and support production yield and quality improvement including data gathering/ interpretation, data visualization and defect analysis. Support the development of next generation MEMS devices; provide technical support and guidance for process sustaining and development activities.

 

KNOWLEDGE: An experienced professional with an understanding of data analysis, quality control and MEMs/Semiconductor processing.; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented position. 

 

JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Employs methods of data visualization to enhance understanding. Networks with senior internal and external personnels in own area of expertise.

 

SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Ensure product yield and quality are keeping pace with the continuous improvement roadmap. Propose innovative ideas, procedures, metrology which will lead to enhancement of MEMS products and associated manufacturing.
  • Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction), fab wide programs such as capacity expansion, and other strategic initiatives to keep MEMS products and their quality competitive in the industry.
  • Use data driven and statistical analysis approaches to evaluate and improve product performance. Employ techniques of data visualization to communicate trends, findings and concerns. Periodically report and present performance metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Organize and lead teams to address the root cause, take corrective actions, and propose preventive actions in an event of excursions or quality incident
  • Assist in investigating non-conformances, determine root cause and assign corrective and preventive actions with production or development team.
  • Work with product development teams to transfer design into manufacture with good quality assurance
  • Address internal or external customer quality concerns, identify root cause of quality issues or excursions, and propose solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure company quality systems are maintained as per ISO9001standards.Help with the quality training for employees, conduct internal audits as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • PhD, Master or Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
  • Prior experience or exposure to semiconductor/MEMS fabrication processes such as photolithography, etching, and thin film deposition. Familiarity with defect detection and failure analysis methods.
  • Have knowledge and experience of quality control and assurance in a volume production. Understand the quality assurance concepts, tools, and industry standards.  Such as QC 7 tools, FMEA, Six Sigma, and other quality tools.
  • Have basic statistic knowledge and skills, such as Gage R&R, Cp, Cpk, SPC, and DOE. Know how to use data analysis results to do trouble shooting and solve problems.
  • Exposure to Quality Systems tools such as ISO9001, ISO14001. Know the concepts and how they are running, such as PDCA, control of change, control of nonconforming, and corrective action (CAPA).
  • Demonstrated project management and team building skills
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with diverse engineering and production teams
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and packages such as JMP, Tableau, Minitab required.

 

DESIRED:

  • Knowledge in MEMS especially in piezoelectric resonators, sensors, or actuators
  • Experience with database SQL queries
  • Familiarity with database communication languages such as SQL
  • Six Sigma black belt and ISO9001 internal auditor certification
