POSITION SUMMARY:

Work in the engineering lab setup environment to study intrinsic jetting behavior of new and current jetting devices. Work with lab technicians and lead test engineers to execute test plans and follow test procedures.  Person should have strong communication skills to be able to understand technical test plans and be able to present test results to the technical audience. Documenting standard processes and procedures for testing industrial ink jet printheads, and validate current technical documents forming a basis for training methods of ink testing.

 

Support upgrade and maintenance of lab computers for better efficiency and lab productivity. Documenting these systems and other mechanical, electrical and optical hardware for better visibility and ongoing support.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for following the execution of ink testing work in the lab.
  • Follow pre-established structure of test templates and routines to manage data acquisition.
  • Performs analysis and communicates these results.
  • Seeks out opportunities to improve processes in both short and long term. Takes ownership of test efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides clear and concise documentation of test processes. Accepts input from all sources when determining procedures
  • Organizing and cataloging test result data for future reference.
  • Support system integration and manage information systems
  • Help map various hardware and software installed on different test equipment
  • Help with data acquisition and management initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Strong interest in physics and fluid mechanics desired.
  • Hands on knowledge of working with computers and IT systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced problem-solving skills utilizing science and engineering education to arrive at practical solutions.
  • Ability to work individually and comfortable working alongside a variety of company personnel, including technicians and managers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite software to use for reports and communication
  • Detail oriented and very well organized
  • A strong interest and desire to work in a hands-on laboratory environment
  • Course of studies with an interest in high-technology manufacturing, engineering, and product development, for a summer internship opportunity in the Printhead Test Lab.

 

DESIRED:

  • The ideal candidate for this position will be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a similar physical science with solid technical writing ability, mechanical aptitude including basic mechanism assembly and disassembly and the use of hand tools, and a thorough knowledge of data processing and manipulation using analytical and statistical tools.

  • Work is performed in a very clean environment, requiring use of smock and safety glasses.
